Owner, Steve Harris is a native Texan but has lived most of his life in Shreveport. He attended school in Shreveport and is a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School. He also attended LSU-Shreveport. Steve has had a long career in the customer service industry, beginning with McDonalds when he was in high school. He then went into audio/video sales and then into the insurance industry. He spent 20 years in the automotive finance industry working for major local dealers in the area and spent the last 14 years at Yokem Toyota. Steve then ventured into the mortgage industry for 4 years. After the economic downturn, he decided to open his own business and Harris Lawn Care was born. He purchased one lawn mower and started mowing after work and on weekends while still working. Later, he went full time into the lawn business and purchased more equipment after he built up his clientele. Steve personally oversees every yard that is mowed or cleaned and is on site every day. Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to him for that is what sets him apart from the other lawn companies in our area. He strives to try and please all his customers.
Tammy, his wife, is the bookkeeper for Harris Lawn Care, while working full time as well. She is a native Texan also. She grew up in Odessa, TX and moved to Shreveport in 1980. She is a graduate of LSU-Shreveport with a B.S. in Psychology and she also has a Master's degree from Louisiana Tech in Counseling and Guidance. Tammy works in the mental health field as a court appointed advocate/guardian for incapacitated adults who have no family to care for them. Steve and Tammy live in Bossier City. She and Steve have 2 dogs: dachshunds, named Chloe and Katie.
Tammy and Steve are devoted dog lovers. They currently have 2 dogs, Katie and Chloe. However, both have owned dogs since they were children. Their dogs are a major part of their life and occupy a very special and important part in their family. They are quite devoted to their "fur babies" and support many local and national animal causes. In honor of their pets that have passed: Caroline, Sugar, Brownie, Buttons, Brandon, Annie, Molly, Sophie and Paris. We continue to love and honor our pets as we love and honor our family.
